If you’re a Freezer Meal Frenzy devotee, the Alexia Sweet Potato Fries with Sea Salt might look a little familiar. While this is technically our first time reviewing this product, we’ve already reviewed Alexia’s organic sweet potato fries, which are also seasoned with sea salt. Thankfully, we adore sweet potatoes, so trying yet another version of these fries didn’t feel like a chore.
These don’t take quite as long to cook as their organic counterparts. If you’re cooking half a bag — or less, like we usually do — you only have to cook your fries for 10-12 minutes. We strongly recommend covering your baking sheet with aluminum foil before tossing these fries in the oven. They really stick to the pan; we actually had to use a spatula to get everything off the baking sheet and onto our plate!
As was the case with the organic fries, these fries aren’t heavily seasoned. Even though they’re salted, you’ll probably want to serve them with some sort of sauce. We’ve found that barbeque sauce complements sweet potato fries better than ketchup. We also think these slightly-sweet fries would be delicious with honey!
Sweet potato fries tend to be a little softer than fries made from standard potatoes, and that holds true here. In spite of that softness, our fries weren’t falling apart. They have a very pleasant texture, especially if you leave them in the oven a few minutes past the recommended cook time. They taste great when they’re just a little bit crispy on the edges.
The Alexia Sweet Potato Fries with Sea Salt may not be organic, but they’re just as delicious as the other Alexia fries we’ve tried. Alexia always delivers in the frozen fry department, and these are no exception. All of Alexia’s products are made from natural ingredients, and you can really taste the difference.
