Jimmy Dean English Muffin, Canadian Bacon, Whole Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches Review

Jimmy Dean English Muffin, Canadian Bacon, Whole Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches

Jimmy Dean is the maker of frozen breakfasts of all stripes. From breakfast sausage to sandwiches, they have quite a wide range of products to check out. Of course, it’s probably their sandwiches that they’re best known for, and Jimmy Dean certainly has a robust selection of those to try.

Today we’re going to taste a true classic, the Jimmy Dean English Muffin, Canadian Bacon, Whole Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches. These little sammies are probably really close to what you think of when you hear the term “breakfast sandwich.” They feature canadian bacon, egg, and cheese crammed inside an english muffin.

You can heat these from frozen or thawed, and we prefer them thawed. We find that sometimes when we heat these from frozen, the center doesn’t always cook properly, and a chilly center portion can really ruin a delicious breakfast sandwich. We noticed the term “Whole Egg” in the title, and we were wondering what that was all about. As it turns out, these sandwiches have more egg — an entire egg per sandwich — than their counterparts in the Jimmy Dean line. Just look at the picture above and compare it to the Delights version of this same sandwich; you can really see the difference. This swings the flavor profile toward the egg, which is definitely a positive for a breakfast sandwich.

Aside from that, you’ve got a thin circle of canadian bacon. It’s a little chewier than we’d like, but it’s juicy and it has a really great flavor. It has a delicious taste of ham with just a hint of sweetness to it. Good stuff.

The cheese here is a processed american. We definitely would have preferred a real swiss or cheddar here, but it works well enough. Put simply: the sandwich is better for having cheese at all, but this isn’t the best possible option.

If you eat just one sandwich, you’ll be taking in 260 calories (90 from fat) and 710 mg of sodium. That’s not bad for a breakfast, but we have a feeling you’ll end up eating two in a sitting, which doubles those numbers. That’s looking a bit less positive for dieters.

The Jimmy Dean English Muffin, Canadian Bacon, Whole Egg & Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches are just plain classic. Packing more egg than many of their competitors, these suckers will get you through a morning with a side of coffee. These are definitely among Jimmy Dean’s better offerings.
