We admit that what we’re about to do is a little bit weird, but we’re living in weird times, folks, and weird times call for weird web content. Weird web content is something we can absolutely provide!
There’s a story behind this. See, we were picking up our usual haul of frozen food from our local Trader Joe’s, and as we were leaving the store, the cashier chased us down and said, “Wait! I’ve got something for you, if you want it!” They tossed us a bag of Trader Joe’s Organic Milk Chocolate Caramel Eggs from a safe distance of six feet away. We caught the bag gracefully and decided to take these eggs home to try them out.
So no, we’re usually not in the business of reviewing expired Easter candy, but we’ll make an exception today — or should we say egg-ception?
When we cracked open the bag, we found ten candy eggs inside, and each one of those was individually wrapped so you can feel safe about handing them out at Halloween (if they’re still around then).
These are pretty simple treats, really. They’re basically an engraved chocolate half-egg that’s filled with a dark caramel center. Trader Joe’s is not really rewriting the book on Easter candy here, but there’s no reason to mess with a classic. And a true classic these are indeed.
Now, we actually tend to prefer dark chocolate, but the milk chocolate shells are quite alright by us. The caramel in the center, however, is absolutely fantastic. It’s gooey and rich with that sweet caramel flavor.
The Trader Joe’s Organic Milk Chocolate Caramel Eggs are a classic holiday treat that will satisfy a sweet tooth, even if you eat them after Easter. We’d probably take Cadbury eggs over these ones if we were paying, but hey, these ain’t bad for something a random cashier tossed at us on our way out of Trader Joe’s.
