Tyson Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets (2 lb. Bag) Review

Tyson Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets (2 lb. Bag)

We’ve been going on some wild chicken nugget adventures here at Freezer Meal Frenzy. Part of that is because we’ve recently started reviewing the Tyson brand, which specializes in frozen chicken, but part of that is simply because we love them so much.

Today we’re continuing the trend and we’re checking out the Tyson Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets, which come in a big two-pound bag.

Heating these is easy enough, whether you decide on using an oven or a microwave (you can see the full instructions for both methods by checking out our package scan at the bottom of this review). We usually go with the oven when we make chicken nuggets, and we made no exception here.

Having tried several different variations on the classic chicken nugget (such as Trader Joe’s and Archer Farms), we were surprised by how soft and tender the Tyson nuggets are. It would be an exaggeration to say that they melt in your mouth, but they really do start to break down the second you bite into them. This is a really wonderful quality, and it’s likely part of the reason these nuggets tend to be so popular.

As far as flavor, these are pretty lovely. The meat flavor is muted, which is to be expected from white meat chicken, and the breading only enhances this. The breading also has a really nice gritty texture, and just a tiny hint of crispiness to it (which we can only assume would not be the case for microwaved nuggets).

Of course, chicken nuggets are really at their best when they’re dipped in a good sauce. We used our time-tested combo of BBQ sauce and ranch dressing, and we found these nuggets to be the perfect foundation to build a sauce emporium on top of.

The bag considers five nuggets to be a serving, which puts your calorie count at 270. That doesn’t seem too bad, but five nuggets is a pretty small portion size. While we don’t think you’ll be scarfing down an entire two-pound bag in a sitting, we do think you’ll probably end up eating more than five at a time.

The Tyson Fully Cooked Chicken Nuggets are quite popular (they’re recommended to us quite frequently), and now we know why. They’re pretty basic, but they have the exact flavor and consistency that nugget-lovers expect. And they go great with a dipping sauce combo!

These Chicken Nuggets are horrible I would never buy again and I wish I could get my money back but the bag I open I thought they would be real meat not processed when I looked them up last night.
