Lean Cuisine meals are easy and diet-friendly, but they’re not always large enough to leave you satiated. Thankfully, Lean Cuisine is starting to offer bulkier versions of some of their most popular dishes, such as the Lean Cuisine Four Cheese Tortelloni with Pesto Sauce (20% More Ounces). We’ve already reviewed the smaller version of this meal. That dish contains 290 calories, while the bulkier version we’re reviewing today contains 360 calories.
This may be larger than your ordinary Lean Cuisine meal, but it’s just as easy to heat in the microwave. Our dish was ready to eat in just over five minutes, and we didn’t have to do much more than give it a stir after the first three minutes were up. Although the sauce looks thin in the image below, it thickened up pretty quickly.
Last time we reviewed this, we mentioned that there weren’t really any pesto flavors present in this dish. That’s definitely still true here. There’s a slight basil flavor, but it isn’t strong. It tastes more like an alfredo sauce than anything else.
The sauce is fine, but it’s the cheese-stuffed tortelloni noodles that really sell this meal. As you can see, there aren’t many noodles here, but each one is absolutely bursting with cheese. The creamy sauce only enhances the flavor of the pasta and filling. This is a simple, comfort-food-like meal that really hits the spot.
The Lean Cuisine Four Cheese Tortelloni with Pesto Sauce (20% More Ounces) is a great option if the average Lean Cuisine meal isn’t enough to fill you up. Even though Lean Cuisine claims that this dish is “not a lean food,” it’s still pretty low in calories. It’s a nice option if you want to enjoy healthy microwaved lunches but don’t want to deal with a rumbling stomach.
