Totino’s Supreme Pizza Rolls (50 Rolls) Review

Totino's Supreme Pizza Rolls (50 Rolls)

We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again: Totino’s pizza rolls are one of the all-time classic in-a-rush snack foods. Well, we don’t think we’ve used those exact words in that particular combination before, but we’ve definitely said things along those lines.

Anway, we have fond memories of chomping these goo-filled delights in our younger years, and it’s always a somewhat nostalgic experience to get to revisit them as frozen food reviewers. So today we’re checking out the Totino’s Supreme Pizza Rolls, and we’ve got a whole 50-roll bag sitting in front of us just waiting to go.

Okay, so we’re not going to eat the whole bag at once. But we really do have 50 pizza rolls here.

Anyway, moving on…

These are easy to cook. Simply preheat your oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit, spread out some pizza rolls on a baking sheet (we prefer to coat our baking sheet with aluminum foil first), and then cook them for 11 to 15 minutes. You can also nuke these in the microwave if you need them super fast, but they don’t end up with that lovely crispy shell when microwaved. (If you want to read the full cooking instructions off the bag, check out the package scans at the bottom of this review.)

Now, we’ve long been under the impression that one Totino’s pizza roll tastes like any other Totino’s pizza roll. They’re mostly just sauce and cheese inside a shell of bread — oftentimes the various meat fillings are insubstantial enough portion-wise that they just all sort of taste the same. If you don’t venture outside the classic sausage, pepperoni, and triple meat varieties, that is sort of true. But there’s a whole world of wonder outside those basic options, friend. For example, the cheeseburger pizza rolls have pickles in them.

The supreme pizza rolls aren’t as noticeable a departure as the cheeseburger ones, but they do stand out due to the addition of onions and green peppers. It’s not a huge difference, of course, but it is a nice surprise nonetheless.

Pizza rolls are no health food. If you eat just six of them, you’ll be gulping down 220 calories and 310 mg of sodium. Those numbers don’t look all that bad at first, until you try to make a meal of these things and you’re downing 15 of the suckers in a sitting. Then you’re up to 550 calories and 775 mg of sodium. Not quite as sexy now, is it?

The Totino’s Supreme Pizza Rolls are a great snack if you can spare the calories. We do like the supreme flavor quite a bit, which puts these above any of the basic meat options for us. If we had to choose between the basic pepperoni pizza rolls or the supreme pizza rolls, we’d choose supreme every single time.
