Lotzza Motzza Breakfast Pizza Review

Lotzza Motzza Breakfast Pizza

As big fans of the Lotzza Motzza brand of frozen pizza, we absolutely love tasting anything they make. So when we spotted the Lotzza Motzza Breakfast Pizza at our local Target, we didn’t hesitate to toss it into our cart. What will Lotzza Motzza’s take on breakfast look like? Well, we’re about to find out.

This pizza is as simple to cook as any other frozen 12″ pizza. Preheat the oven, plop the pizza onto a baking sheet, then toss it into the oven for about 20 minutes. The instructions say to place the pizza directly on an oven rack, but we always use a baking sheet. That said, 21 minutes in the oven usually does the trick for us. (If you want to read the full cooking instructions, check out the package scan at the bottom of this review.)

Lotzza Motzza Breakfast Pizza

So what exactly is a breakfast pizza? Well, this one is basically a breakfast scramble piled onto a pizza crust and topped with a whole boatload of cheese. You’ve got some scrambled eggs, breakfast sausage, bacon, and country gravy in the mix here. of course, because this is a Lotzza Motzza pizza, it’s absolutely buried in delicious, gooey cheese.

The breakfast sausage is fantastic. We’re huge fans of the Lotzza Motzza Sausage Pizza, so we’re pretty happy to find a decent amount of sausage here. The bacon portion isn’t huge, but the chunks are fairly big rather than finely ground. This means when you get a chunk of bacon in your mouth, you can definitely taste it.

The country gravy is a treat as well. It has a creamy consistency and an almost garlic-alfredo-y flavor to it, which really serves this pizza well. While Lotzza Motzza makes a really tasty red sauce, the gravy here is simply the better choice for the pizza overall.

Because the sausage, bacon, and gravy do so much work here flavor-wise, the eggs end up hiding a bit. They don’t stand out as part of the flavor combo, but they do also make this pizza way more filling than your standard Lotzza Motzza pizza. We have staffers who can devour 2/3 of a pizza this size in a sitting, but even those people felt done after 1/3 of this one. This is a pizza with some heartiness to it.

That said, the package’s recommended serving size of 1/5 a pizza seems a bit skimpy to us. If you limit yourself to 1/5 a pizza, you’re looking at 400 calories (240 from fat) and 1,060 mg of sodium. Once you go beyond that, you’re really piling up calories and sodium.

The Lotzza Motzza Breakfast Pizza is a super-cheesy morning delight. The calorie count is really high, so this shouldn’t be your go-to breakfast food, but if you’re simply looking to indulge once in a while, this is one darn satisfying breakfast.
