Lotzza Motzza Chicken Alfredo Pizza Review

Lotzza Motzza Chicken Alfredo Pizza

While Lotzza Motzza has many, many options for their oh-so-cheezy frozen pizzas, such as the Hawaiian pizza and the “Mac Attack” mac and cheese pizza, we think we love their plain sausage pizza best so far. What Lotzza Motzza does best is getting the cheese and sauce consistency perfect. This means that the more complicated their pizza toppings are, the less their amazing cheese-and-sauce combo stands out.

Still, we’re always happy to try something new and interesting, and we’ve been really curious about how the Lotzza Motzza Chicken Alfredo Pizza would hold up to a Freezer Meal Frenzy taste test. It’s certainly an intriguing flavor combo, but we’re not sure Lotzza Motzza is the brand to make this combo work.

Now, to be clear, Lotzza Motzza’s pizzas are a cut above the competition no matter what they do. We’re not saying anything we’ve tried from them has been less than amazing. However, we will say that some of their pizzas — the sausage pizza in particular — have gotten pretty darn close to perfection. Their more complex pizzas tend to be a bit lower than that very, very high bar, but they’re still head-and-shoulders above the competition. So when we review Lotzza Motzza pizzas, we try to compare them to other Lotzza Motzza pizzas rather than pizzas from other brands. In a brand comparison, Lotzza Motzza will almost always come out on top. In a sausage-vs.-Hawaiian showdown, though, the sausage pizza is a the clear winner.

Make sense?

Alright, so let’s dig in!

We think at this point you probably already know how to cook one of these, so we won’t go over it in detail. We will say, however, that if you want the full cooking instructions for this frozen pizza, you can check out the package scan at the bottom of this review to read them right off the bottom of the packaging.

We should point out right away that we love Lotzza Motzza’s red sauce. It has the perfect flavor, and just a little bit of spiciness to really complement a cheese-filled masterpiece of pizza perfection. We only mention this because this pizza does not have red sauce on it. In case the title didn’t give it away, this pizza swaps out the traditional red for an alfredo sauce. Considering how great the red sauce is, this is a pretty big gamble.

So does it pay off? Well, we do think the red sauce is the superior sauce, and that it’s hard to make any arguments against its tomatoey perfection. Even so, the alfredo sauce does hold its own here. It’s richer than we’d expect an alfredo sauce to be on a pizza, and that makes it really stand out. It also pairs well with the oodles of mozzarella cheese you’ll find on this pizza. The alfredo seems to underscore the cheesiness rather than contrast with it, like the red sauce does, so it can get maybe a little bit overwhelming. Still, it’s a darn tasty sauce in its own right.

The chicken here is actually sort of forgettable. In terms of quality, this is some mid-level stuff — it’s not bad, but there’s nothing special about it. That doesn’t really matter a whole lot, though, because it doesn’t get in the way at all. It’s there to do its duty, to fulfill the promise of chicken that the title makes. It won’t blow you away, but it also probably won’t change your opinion of the pizza as a whole.

Lotzza Motzza Chicken Alfredo Pizza

The one major downside to eating any Lotzza Motzza pizza is that the calorie count is outrageous, and that’s just as true here as it is with any of their other pizza pies. In just 1/5 of this pizza, you’ll find 370 calories (130 from fat) and 1,040 mg of sodium. If you eat half a pizza, that ends up being 925 friggin’ calories. And don’t even get us started on the sodium level.

If you’ve never had a Lotzza Motzza pizza before, then dear friend, please start with the sausage pizza or even the plain cheese pizza. Those will give you a much better taste of what this brand is all about. However, if you’re a longtime fan looking to step off the beaten path and explore the lesser-known offerings of this line, the Lotzza Motzza Chicken Alfredo Pizza is a good place to start.

Chicken Alfredo is the best one they have hands down. The sauce is absolutely delicious and I can’t find a recipe online. It’s a hidden secret I think.
