Trader Joe’s Tomato Feta Soup Review

Trader Joe's Tomato Feta Soup

There are countless ways to prepare tomato soup. Some soups, like gazpacho, are meant to be served cold. Some are spicy, and some are mild. We appreciate all kinds of tomato soup here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, which is why we decided to try the Trader Joe’s Tomato Feta Soup.

Although this soup can be heated in the microwave, we thought we’d get better results if we cooked it on the stove. All we did was toss the contents of the container into a pot and give it the occasional stir. Since the soup is refrigerated, not frozen, the process doesn’t take very long. Our soup was ready to eat in around five minutes.

It can be tricky to get the seasoning right in soups. We’ve tried soups that were way too salty and soups that were frustratingly bland. This soup, however, is just right. The basil and oregano are the perfect complement to the tomato base, and a hint of chili pepper adds some depth to the flavor. It’s a near-perfect tomato soup flavor.

The texture of this soup is also terrific. This isn’t just pureed tomatoes; there are also thicker pieces of tomato to enjoy. The soup doesn’t have a strong feta flavor, and but the chunks of feta cheese do add a little more texture to the meal. This would be a great soup to eat with grilled cheese, but it’s also hearty enough to enjoy on its own. There’s enough for about two cups or one bowl of soup here, with 260 calories of soup in total.

Trader Joe’s Tomato Feta Soup is a very tasty tomato soup. If you’re expecting something creamy or cheesy, this might disappoint you, but if you just want a good tomato soup, this is a great option. It’s an easy meal that’s perfect for a chilly day.
