Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Coffee Review

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice Coffee

No, you haven’t come to the wrong place. At least we don’t think you did.

While it’s quite strange to see a frozen food review site writing about coffee, this is still the same Freezer Meal Frenzy that you’ve come to know and love. We’re just running an experiment this week.

See, we absolutely love the Trader Joe’s seasonal line, but normally we stick to reviewing their frozen items — you know, the squash casseroles and such. However, this fall, we decided to branch out into Trader Joe’s non-frozen seasonal items. So this week, we’re doing one review per day for a TJ’s seasonal item. This is on top of our daily frozen food review, so that’s double the reviews for our readers to enjoy! It’s been a great week so far, and it just keeps getting better.

Yesterday, we checked out the oh-so-amazing Gobbler Quesadilla, and today we’re drinking ourselves a cup of the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Coffee.

When you crack open the box, you’ll find a resealable bag with a dozen K-cups inside. As soon as you open that bag, you’ll be whacked in the face with the overpowering aroma of pumpkin spice. This is some seriously potent stuff.

Obviously, you will need a K-cup brewer to make this coffee. That’s not a problem in the Freezer Meal Frenzy office, but we know that not everyone has a Kuerig. This coffee is specifically for the K-cup crowd.

That potent pumpkin spice smell does not go away once you brew this. Of course, this is a medium roast coffee first and foremost, so it has that bitter flavor you’d expect from any brewed coffee. If you don’t like the natural coffee flavor, there are a lot of different cream products you can pair this with. We think almond milk is great, but the perfect creamer for this might be the Trader Joe’s Non-Dairy Maple Oat Beverage (which is fantastic).

Aside from that, though, there is a spiciness present. Not in the hot-pepper sort of way, but in the throat-tingling way that cinnamon and cloves are spicy. Cinnamon and cloves are both present here, as is a bit of ginger to really round out the mix.

The Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Coffee is a great way to add some pumpkin spice to your day. Whether you brew this up with breakfast or make it as an afternoon treat, this coffee will delight anyone who loves to indulge in the autumn season’s delights.
