Amy’s Organic Moroccan Inspired Vegetable Tagine Review

Amy's Organic Moroccan Inspired Vegetable Tagine

A tagine is a Moroccan stew or casserole that gets its name from the earthenware container it’s prepared in. Unlike some of our other favorite frozen dishes, the Amy’s Organic Moroccan Inspired Vegetable Tagine doesn’t come in a fancy container. In spite of that, it’s a pretty tasty frozen meal.

Amy’s meals are generally a breeze to prepare, and that’s definitely the case here. All you have to do is pop it in the microwave for four minutes and then let it sit until it cools. After that, it’ll be ready to eat! Even the oven cooktime is pretty reasonable. If you decide to bake this tagine, it’ll be ready in 25 to 30 minutes.

The Moroccan stew is tomato-based, and it has some great texture here. It’s packed with delicious ingredients like garbanzo beans, fire-roasted sweet potatoes, chucks of tofu, and some organic broccoli. There are also some more unusual flavors in play here, like organic apricots. It’s a complex dish that has a little bit of a kick to it, though it isn’t overly spicy.

What we really loved about this dish, however, were the grains. There’s an amazing blend of quinoa and pearl couscous here, and it’s the perfect complement to the delicious stew. Our one real complaint about the meal is that it’s a little light on grains. We finished them off long before we finished the stew.

The Amy’s Organic Moroccan Inspired Vegetable Tagine may not come in a fancy container, but it is a really tasty frozen meal. While we would have appreciated more grains, we can’t deny that this is delicious. It’s an interesting dish that stands out from the other options you’ll find in the frozen food aisle.
