Jimmy Dean Delights Turkey Sausage & Veggie Breakfast Wraps Review

Jimmy Dean Delights Turkey Sausage & Veggie Breakfast Wraps

Jimmy Dean has long been known for their frozen breakfast sandwiches, so it was only a matter of time before they started dabbling in wraps. We’re actually pretty excited about this, because we love gulping down a lovely breakfast wrap with a glass of coffee in the morning.

Today, we’re checking out the Jimmy Dean Delights Turkey Sausage & Veggie Breakfast Wraps, which are part of this new line.

These come four in a box, and each one is individually wrapped.

To heat one, pull it out of the freezer, peel off the wrapper, and wrap the thing in a paper towel. Put it in the microwave for about a minute and a half (we found 95 seconds to be the sweet spot), and you’re ready to wrap!

The shell is made from whole wheat, and it has a lovely flavor. In the microwave, it gets a little soggy, but that’s to be expected of a microwaved wrap we suppose.

The filling is mostly egg, which doesn’t have a ton of flavor, but it serves as a nice base for the rest of the ingredients to build on.

There’s a blend of white cheddar cheese and white cheddar sauce here, and it’s pretty good. It’s creamy and delightful when it first hits, but it has kind of a weird aftertaste. Without the aftertaste, this would be a great-tasting cheese combo; with it, it’s a good yet flawed combination that we still kind of enjoy.

The turkey sausage is pretty decent. It doesn’t have the strong flavor of a real sausage, but it also doesn’t have that rubbery consistency that so many other variations on turkey sausage seem to have.

There are red and green bell peppers inside as well, but they’re not enough to flip these sandwiches in one direction or the other flavor-wise. You’ll barely even notice they’re there.

Each wrap contains 300 calories and 610 mg of sodium. That doesn’t seem like a lot, but keep in mind that these aren’t very filling. Our reviewer had two with a cup of coffee and was still hungry afterward.

The Jimmy Dean Delights Turkey Sausage & Veggie Breakfast Wraps might not be perfect, but they are pretty good regardless. While we certainly can’t see making these a regular part of a breakfast food rotation, they are nice to enjoy once in a while. If you can get over the aftertaste and the fact that they aren’t very filling, that is.
