Bellatoria Garlic Chicken Alfredo Ultra Thin Crust Pizza Review

Bellatoria Garlic Chicken Alfredo Ultra Thin Crust Pizza

The thing about Bellatoria frozen pizzas is that they’re kind of all over the place in terms of quality. Some of their pizzas are on a similar level as Totino’s, while others are actually really high-quality pizzas. One trend emerging from our history of Bellatoria reviews is that their more common pizzas tend to be lower in quality, while their specialty pizzas tend to knock it out of the park. Either way, they still usually end up tasting pretty good; even the lower-quality pies are decent enough.

So we’re pretty excited to be checking out the Bellatoria Garlic Chicken Alfredo Ultra Thin Crust Pizza today. As an off-the-beaten-path pizza, this one has some real potential in the hands of the pizza-makin’ folks at Bellatoria.

If you’ve ever cooked a frozen pizza before, you should have no trouble here. Simply preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit, then pop the pizza in for about 15 minutes. The instructions say to place the pizza directly on the center oven rack, but we always use a baking sheet. (You can read the full cooking instructions straight off the box by checking out the package scans at the bottom of this review.)

With this particular pizza, we decided to run a little experiment. Instead of taking the pizza out of the oven after the regular cook time, we left it in for about four extra minutes, for a total cook time of just under 19 minutes. The results are a much crispier crust, without any major negative consequences. We’ve written in the past about how Bellatoria’s thin crust is a bit soft and wafery like a Totino’s pizza, but this extra cook time really brings this to the level of crispiness you’d expect from a pizza that’s labeled “Ultra Crispy” on the box.

The main feature that sets this pizza apart from its Bellatoria brethren is the sauce, which is a creamy, garlicy alfredo. It’s rich in flavor, and it goes really well with this crispier crust — the sauce and crust feel like they were made for each other!

The chicken is diced kind of small, which means our extra cooking time caused it to be a little drier than we’d have liked. Still, the alfredo sauce really brings out its flavor, making this a great-tasting protein for this particular pizza.

The cheese isn’t the magnificent blend that you’ll get with the Ultimate 5 Cheese pizza, but it does its job well enough. The asiago goes really well with the sauce, and the mozzarella gives it that stretchy quality you’d expect from pizza cheese. It’s hard to complain about either of those things.

We’re sure you know the next part already, but it’s worth saying it anyway: This is not a diet food. With 320 calories and 870 mg of sodium per serving, this doesn’t seem extremely bad at a glance, but keep in mind that this is 1/3 of the pizza. A half pizza contains 480 calories and 1,305 mg of sodium. That ain’t peanuts!

The Bellatoria Garlic Chicken Alfredo Ultra Thin Crust Pizza is another great-tasting pizza from Bellatoria. We do recommend giving this one a little bit longer to cook to get the full experience, but we think this pizza should be a winner either way.
