We’ve always been surprised that there aren’t more frozen falafel options on the market. Sure, there’s the Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Falafel, but for the most part, you’ll find slim falafel pickings in the freezer aisle. Thankfully, TaDah! is here to fill that void.
The TaDah! Falafel Street Wrap with Fresh Lemon-Garlic Hummus is a newly packaged version of the Lemony Roasted Garlic Hummus Wrap, which we reviewed a while back.
The fastest way to heat this wrap is in the microwave, which is why it’s what we opted for. If you follow the instructions, you’ll have a fully cooked wrap in around two minutes. However, since the instructions left us with a wrap that was slightly cold in the middle, we’d recommend cooking it for a little longer.
Lemon is the predominant flavor in this wrap, making it taste very refreshing. The hummus itself is nice and creamy, and there’s plenty of it surrounding the heavier falafel at the center, creating a nice mix of textures. The tortilla is a little dry, but not overly so, and the other ingredients here help to cover that up.
It looks like TaDah! may have made a few alterations to the recipe. The original version of the wrap contains 430 calories, while the new version is slightly lighter at 410 calories. However, the differences aren’t too substantial, and this is still a hearty, filling, and tasty little wrap.
The TaDah! Falafel Street Wrap with Fresh Lemon-Garlic Hummus is a must-try if you’re a fan of falafel. While the citrus flavor won’t appeal to everyone, we really appreciated the blend of garlic and lemon. Since this wrap is on the mild side, it’s something you can enjoy even if you can’t handle spicier food.
