It’s a scorcher out!
We’re dying of the heat over here in the Freezer Meal Frenzy office (not literally), so rather than cook up some hot meals to review, we decided to try something that we can eat cold. And we do have to say, thank God for the Talenti Madagascan Vanilla Bean Gelato. This is the exact thing we need so we can cool off a bit!
People often use the word vanilla to mean bland, and we think that’s not really fair to actual vanilla. Real vanilla isn’t bland at all! In fact, vanilla ice cream (and vanilla gelato) can be super sweet and flavorful. This Talenti batch certainly is.
Maybe it’s just the heat, but this Talenti gelato tastes exactly how we’d want a vanilla gelato to taste. It’s sweet, it’s rich, and it’s oh-so-creamy.
There are some tiny specks of vanilla bean in the mix, which you can probably see in the image above. While we’re not certain how much they actually impact the flavor, they do add just a subtle, barely discernable texture to this gelato, and we really appreciate that.
The ingredients list is super simple: milk, sugar, cream, dextrose, vanilla extract, carob bean gum, natural flavor, and lemon peel. That’s a really short list, and those are mostly natural ingredients. We think that’s perfectly fine here, as this tastes amazing — there’s no need to go stuffing this gelato with chemicals!
According to the carton, there are three servings here. 1/3 of a container has 260 calories, which isn’t bad at all considering how rich this is. And really, with as hot as it’s been, we appreciate frozen treats that are low in calories — we’ve spent a lot of time thinking about changing into our swimsuits today!
The Talenti Madagascan Vanilla Bean Gelato is the perfect antidote to the too-hot-weather blues. When the sun is scorching, this gelato provides some sweet relief!
