Bellatoria Ultimate Supreme Ultra Thin Crust Personal Size Pizza Review

Bellatoria Ultimate Supreme Ultra Thin Crust Personal Size Pizza

We first became interested in the Bellatoria brand by proxy. See, Bellatoria is a sub-brand of Bernatello’s, and Bernatello’s also makes our beloved Lotzza Motzza Brew Pub pizzas. So eventually, we made the long, tasty jourey from Lotzza Motzza to the Bellatoria side of the family. While Bellatoria pizzas are certainly not as high-quality as their Lotzza Motzza brethren, we still enjoy them quite a bit.

It’s been a while since we checked out a Bellatoria pizza, though, so we thought we’d address that today. So now we’re reviewing the Bellatoria Ultimate Supreme Ultra Thin Crust Personal Size Pizza. We did review the big version of this, but we thought it would be worthwhile to check out the personal-sized option to see how it stacks up. In fact, we were pretty surprised to find out there even was a personal-sized option!

Even though most personal pizzas are made to be heated in the microwave, this pizza is an exception. Despite it’s smaller size, this will have to be heated in the oven. It’s not super difficult or anything, but we really were hoping we’d be nuking this today. Oh well. This pizza contains tons and tons of toppings. In fact, it’s so much that we ended up having to cook this quite a bit longer than the recommended cook time to get it to cook all the way through. It does flatten out a little bit as it cooks, but we don’t think we’ve seen a personal-sized pizza with such a generous amount of toppings before.

On the other hand, there’s really not a ton of meat — we only had two pieces of pepperoni, for example. But there are enough veggies that the total topping portion adds up to a whole lot.

And those toppings are pretty good, for the most part. The veggies taste fresh. The green peppers have an especially strong presence here, and that ends up being a really good choice. The black olives are a little iffy, but there are few enough of them that it doesn’t matter. We could have really used some more mushrooms, though.

Bellatoria pizzas tend to have a sweeter red sauce, and that’s true here too. And while this pales in comparison to a Lotzza Motzza pizza, it still features a decent amount of mozzarella cheese on top.

Now, even though the front of the box says “Personal Size” on it, the side panel (where the nutritional content is printed) would disagree. Apparently, this is still designed to be two servings. That seems a bit deceptive to us, to be honest. Doesn’t “Personal Size” mean that it’s designed to be a single serving?

Anyway, if you dig through the marketing doublespeak, you’ll realize that this actually contains 500 calories (260 from fat) and 1,220 mg of sodium. That’s clearly a bit higher than Bellatoria was comfortable admitting. The bottom line: This isn’t a diet-friendly pizza.

The Bellatoria Ultimate Supreme Ultra Thin Crust Personal Size Pizza is loaded with calories and not microwavable, but it’s still a good-tasting pie. The generous veggie portions really make this stand out from other personal pizzas, and we especially enjoyed the green peppers. We would have loved to see more mushrooms and sausage specifically, but what’s here is still worth eating — it’s just not made for dieters.
