Cinnabon CinnaBiscuit Chicken Sandwich Review

Cinnabon CinnaBiscuit Chicken Sandwich

When Cinnabon first announced that they were releasing a frozen line, we were very excited about it here in the Freezer Meal Frenzy office. We love breakfast food, and we’ll take any excuse to eat breakfast at any point in the day. Unfortunately, when this stuff was new, it was really hard to find.

It’s been out a while now, and while we still don’t see a ton of this stuff out in the wild, it does seem like it’s gotten easier to find. That’s good, because we’ve been impressed with the quality of these breakfast items so far, and we’d love to eat more of them. So today we’re doing exactly that: We’re taking a look at the Cinnabon CinnaBiscuit Chicken Sandwich.

So let’s cook this thing up and take a little tasty taste!

Thankfully, cooking this is easy, though the instructions are a bit particular. Wrap up a sandwich in a damp paper towel, then microwave it for 90 seconds. But wait, there’s more! There is also a cinnamon sauce packet included with each sandwich. You’ll need to put that into a bowl or cup of hot water so that it thaws while your sandwich is cooking. The instructions are very specific about how you should apply the sauce; you need to pull apart the sandwich, then squeeze some sauce on the biscuit, then place the chicken on top of that and squeeze some more sauce onto the chicken. The goal is to have the sauce mostly on the chicken portion. This is a rather interesting flavor combination, we must say. The sauce is incredible, though we can’t say we’re surprised by this fact. It’s a super sweet, super cinnamon-y treat that is really craveable — this is Cinnabon’s hallmark, of course.

The sandwich itself, however, is a classic chicken-and-biscuit affair. It’s a breaded piece of breast-and-rib-meat chicken on a crumbly piece of biscuit. Both of those are lovely; the biscuit holds its consistency really well, even when microwaved, and the chicken ends up tasting surprisingly good (though ours did end up being a little rubbery).

We’re just not sure how much we like the chicken-and-biscuit portion combined with the sauce. In fact, we think this might actually taste better with some mayo than it does with the cinnamon sauce. Then again, we’re guessing this particular flavor combo is going to be someone’s jam. It’s not bad; we just don’t think it’s for us.

The box contains two sandwiches, but one is considered a serving. One sandwich contains 360 calories and 700 mg of sodium. Those numbers are actually not bad, considering the sweetness overload here. Then again, each sandwich isn’t that big, and you could probably manage to eat both in a sitting.

The Cinnabon CinnaBiscuit Chicken Sandwich has a lot going for it, but it’s not really our thing. The quality of the ingredients is really high and there’s a whole lot to love here, but we’re on the fence about whether this would be better if it just stuck with the savory side of its sweet-‘n-savory combo. If you’re looking for a super-sweet chicken breakfast sandwich, though, this is exactly what you’re looking for.
