Bellatoria Sunday Brunch Bacon Scramble Pizza Review

Bellatoria Sunday Brunch Bacon Scramble Pizza

It’s been a few months since we last reviewed a Bellatoria pizza here at Freezer Meal Frenzy (it looks like our most recent Bellatoria review was in May of 2022), and it’s been even longer since we reviewed one of their specialty breakfast pizzas. It’s not that we didn’t want to write this review; it’s that we struggled to find this particular pizza during the COVID pandemic, and they still seemed hard to find during all the supply chain issues that followed (at least in our neck of the woods). So this review has been a long time coming — you might even say that it’s been a long time in the cooker…

But we did it, folks. We found the pizza we were looking for. So today, we’re finally getting our hands (and mouths) on the Bellatoria Sunday Brunch Bacon Scramble Pizza, which combines two of our favorite things in the world: pizza and breakfast. We did review the sausage version of this same pizza a while back, but today we’re putting their bacon to the test.

This pizza is easy enough to heat. Simply preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, then pop in the pizza for ten minutes or so. The instructions say to place the pizza directly on the oven rack, but we used a baking sheet. (If you want to read the full cooking instructions, check out the package scans at the bottom of this review.)

One thing we’d somehow completely forgotten about is that Bellatoria uses a biscuit crust here to really drive home the breakfast thing. This isn’t your standard pizza crust — it’s flakey and crumbly like a biscuit. While that certainly wouldn’t work for every pizza, it ends up being a real treat when used on a breakfast pizza like this one.

The breakfast vibes continue with the sauce, which is a country gravy that pairs extremely well with that biscuit crust. It’s creamy and savory, and it really hits the spot.

There are scrambled eggs here, but they’re not great. They’re kind of soggy and watery, and they don’t really add much in the flavor department. That’s actually fine, though, because the rest of the pizza tastes so good that we doubt you’ll be lamenting the loss of any egg flavor.

And then there’s the bacon, which elevates the flavor from good to great. It comes in crumbles and can end up a little dry in places, but it also completes the flavor profile of this pizza, bringing it all together.

For some reason, Bellatoria decided that 1/3 of the pizza is a serving. No, not a half or a quarter, but a third. If you stick with that odd recommendation, you’ll be consuming 360 calories and 690 mg of sodium. That means if you eat a full pizza, you’re up to 1,080 calories and 2,070 mg of sodium, and if you eat a half a pizza, like a reasonable human being, you’ll be at 540 calories and 1,035 mg of sodium. No matter how you slice it, this is a calorie- and sodium-filled beast.

The Bellatoria Sunday Brunch Bacon Scramble Pizza is a darn fine pizza to pair with a black cup of coffee. We do think we like the sausage version just a tad more than this one, but the bacon version is no slouch either.
