Brew Pub Hearty Artisan Crust Sicilian Pizza Review

Brew Pub Hearty Artisan Crust Sicilian Pizza

We’ve never met a pizza we didn’t love. Okay, so that’s not true at all. We’ve had plenty of stinkers in our lifetime. But we think it’s pretty safe to say we’ve never met a Brew Pub pizza we didn’t like. Brew Pub is a sub-brand of Bernatello’s Foods, who also makes Bellatoria pizzas. The Brew Pub brand, more importantly, includes our beloved Lotzza Motzza pizzas, which we can’t get enough of.

But there’s another side to Brew Pub — a heartier side. They also make the Hearty Artisan Crust pizzas, which are also incredible. Today, we’re checking out a real whopper, the Brew Pub Hearty Artisan Crust Sicilian Pizza.

Cooking this should be easy for anyone who’s ever cooked a frozen pizza. Simply preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, then put the pizza in for about 20-25 minutes. You can toss it directly on the oven rack, but we always use a baking sheet for our pizzas, and we did so here as well. (If you want to read the cooking instructions straight off the package, scroll down to the bottom of this review.)

This is one seriously tasty pizza. Brew Pub pretty much nails every single aspect of this to bring together a flavor phenomenon that we’re absolutely wild for.

The crust is a thicker, Digiorno-style affair, only with the quality control knob turned up to 11. The consistency is pretty much perfect here, staying mostly soft but with just a little bit of crispiness on the edges. And the flavor is outstanding, with a lovely bready flavor with just a little bit of sweetness to it. This crust is ridiculously good.

Brew Pub goes with their usual slightly spicy sauce here, and we absolutely love it. It ends up being such a perfect match for the meat that we couldn’t imagine a better sauce for this particular pie.

The meats in question are sausage, pepperoni, salami, and capicola. The pepperoni ends up a little bit crispy, while the salami stays a bit more moist, so whether you like a crispier meat topping or a softer one, this pizza has you covered. Plus, we always love Brew Pub’s sausage.

And then all of this is covered with gobs of gooey, melty mozzarella cheese. Chef’s kiss.

Now, this is not made for serious dieters. The nutrition content suggests that you only eat 1/6 of the pizza, which is a mathematical impossibility. Okay, so it’s not impossible, but we’d say it’s a mathematical improbability. Who cuts a pizza into sixths? What kind of monster would do such a thing?

Anyway, if you eat the recommended sixth somehow, you’ll be consuming 360 calories and 800 mg of sodium. That means that a half pizza contains 1,080 calories and 2,400 mg of sodium.

We’re pretty much in love with the Brew Pub Hearty Artisan Crust Sicilian Pizza. While we tend to prefer the Lotzza Motzza offerings to the Hearty Artisan Crust ones, this particular pizza can proudly stand next to the standouts in the Lotzza Motzza line. This is one of the best pizzas we’ve reviewed here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, and we’ve reviewed hundreds of pizzas at this point. We can’t sing the praises of this pizza loudly or boldly enough — this is frozen-pizza perfection.
