Lean Cuisine Swedish Meatballs Review

Lean Cuisine Swedish Meatballs

The Lean Cuisine line of frozen foods is chock full of surprises. While there are many of the traditional frozen meals you’d expect from such a company, we often find meals that we wouldn’t have guessed Lean Cuisine would make. Case in point, the Swedish Meatballs.

So how did we like this frozen meal?

Well, for starters, in a meal called Swedish Meatballs, we were expecting a few more meatballs. As you can see in the image below, our serving only had five. Now, five would have been fine if they were perhaps a bit bigger, but these meatballs are kind of small.

They taste halfway decent, though. They’re soft and moist, with a little bit of a meatloafy flavor. But we can’t help but feel like they’re missing a little something. We couldn’t quite put our finger on exactly what that would be — perhaps a little spice or something.

The pasta is spiral-shaped, which we really like, and it’s covered with a beef broth gravy sauce. The sauce is actually really good. It has a creamy, brothy flavor that we really enjoy, and it also soaks into the noodles, transforming them into slippery little spirals that just ask to be slurped.

While Lean Cuisine’s Swedish Meatball meal is light on meat, the pasta and sauce are surprisingly good. While this won’t be our favorite frozen meal, we’ll almost certainly be eating it again soon.
