Lunds & Byerlys Cheese Trio Quiche Review

Lunds & Byerlys Cheese Trio Quiche

The quiche, a savory flan consisting of eggs, a pastry crust, and numerous other ingredients, has been around since 1805. Though it’s traditionally a French dish, you can now enjoy a quiche in all corners of the world, and you can even find them in your freezer aisle. We thought that the Lunds & Byerlys Cheese Trio Quiche would be a great way to satisfy our cravings for frozen quiche.

Not familiar with Lunds & Byerlys? They’re an upscale grocery chain that’s based in Minnesota. They have a terrific selection of frozen products, and we definitely recommend sampling their wares if you can!

Although this quiche does come with microwave instructions, we decided we’d prefer to cook it in the oven. We’ve had issues with rubbery microwave eggs in the past, and we wanted to avoid that here! It took us about 40 minutes to bake this quiche through.

The baked egg isn’t rubbery at all; it’s light, fluffy, and tastes like it’s freshly cooked. The pastry crust has a buttery, slightly salty flavor that complements the egg nicely. As promised, this quiche is loaded with cheese. The blend of Swiss, parmesan, and Gruyere is a creamy delight.

Even though everything tasted great, we did find that portions of the crust stuck to the bottom of our container. This isn’t a big deal if you’re eating the quiche right out of the box, but if you’re hoping to serve it, it could be a problem. The top of our quiche was a bit brown when it came out of the oven, but to our relief, it didn’t taste burnt at all.

If you’re a quiche fan, and you don’t mind heating up a frozen quiche, the Lunds & Byerlys Cheese Trio Quiche is quite a tasty dish. At 560 calories per serving, it isn’t a light breakfast, but it is a delicious one. This meal will satisfy lovers of cheese and quiche alike!
