Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Biscotti (Made with Pumpkin Puree and Spices) Review

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Biscotti (Made with Pumpkin Puree and Spices)

We’re fall superfans here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, so we’ve been having an absolute blast reviewing the fall foods lineups from Aldi and Trader Joe’s. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end, and as far as we can tell, we’ve reviewed all of the frozen options from both stores (at least the ones we’ve been able to find on store shelves).

But we’ve got one more review to extend our fall fun for just a little bit longer. And that means we’re going to review one more thing that’s not really a frozen food… Well, it’s not a frozen food at all. Today we’re checking out the Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Biscotti (Made with Pumpkin Puree and Spices).

When you first open up the package, your nose will be hit with a blast of pumpkin scent, which reminds us a bit of pumpkin bars. It’s an absolutely amazing smell, and it really got us into the fall spirit.

But these don’t just smell wonderful, they taste wonderful as well. We’d describe the flavor as almost similar to that of a ginger snap cookie. There’s a sweetness to these that is chased by spices. It’s a delicious flavor combo that really makes these a craveable treat.

True to the classic biscotti formula, these are super hard and crunchy (think a salad crouton as an example). These aren’t soft. If you’re a longtime biscotti fan, this is exactly what you’re expecting, but if this is your first time trying some, then we should just let you know what you’re in for.

The hardness, of course, makes these perfect for dipping. We dipped ours in a mug of black coffee, which softened them up quite a bit and added a bitter edge that contrasted nicely with the somewhat sweet pumpkin flavor.

The package recommends just two pieces as a serving, and honestly, that’s the perfect amount to have with a cup of coffee. If you stick with that, you’ll be consuming 110 calories and 60 mg of sodium. We think you can definitely justify sneaking these into your diet, so long as you enjoy them in moderation.

The Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Biscotti (Made with Pumpkin Puree and Spices) are a lovely fall treat that pairs well with a cup of black coffee. We definitely recommend dipping these, because that’s the best way to enjoy these without cracking a tooth or scraping up the roof of your mouth.
