Banquet Brown ‘N Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links Review

Banquet Brown 'N Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links

Unlike the Jimmy Dean brand, we definitely don’t think of Banquet as a maker of breakfast meats. So we were admittedly surprised to see that they had a proverbial horse in that race. The Banquet Brown ‘N Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links offers a package of ready-to-fry breakfast sausage, and we’re checking it out today to see what it’s all about.

These links are easy enough to cook, and since they’re pre-cooked, you don’t have to stress out about undercooked meat. Now, you should definitely cook your meat thoroughly, even if it’s pre-cooked, but with the pre-cooked stuff, you just don’t have to worry quite as much.

Anyway, you can cook these in the microwave if you’d like, but we decided to use a skillet. Just chuck a few links into the skillet with a few tablespoons of water and fry these up on medium heat. Make sure you flip them once they’ve sufficiently browned on one side. That’s all there is to it. So how do these taste? Well, we were actually surprised by the quality here. These are some really tasty sausage links!

They have your traditional sausage link taste, which means they have just a little bit of a bite to them. Sometimes, breakfast sausage has just a little bit of sweetness added to it, but that’s not the case here. If you want to add some syrup, you definitely can, but that’s optional — we think these taste just fine as is.

We deliberately overcooked ours on one side to give it just a little bit of a charred flavor, and that really made these stand out. We think these would taste amazing cooked on a grill or over a fire.

The box contains ten sausage links, and it considers three to be a serving. Since these are considered a side dish and not a full meal on their own, we think that’s fair. If you stick with that amount, you’re looking at 180 calories and 410 mg of sodium. That’s not really bad, all things considered.

The Banquet Brown ‘N Serve Original Fully Cooked Sausage Links are your pretty basic breakfast links, but they’re surprisingly good. In fact, these are some of the best breakfast links we’ve tried here at Freezer Meal Frenzy. They even give Jimmy Dean sausage links a run for their money!
