Totino’s Pepperoni Pizza Rolls (15 Rolls) Review

Totino's Pepperoni Pizza Rolls (15 Rolls)

If there’s a toasted snack that’s more iconic than Totino’s pizza rolls, we certainly can’t think of it (at least, not off the top of our head). So we’re always happy to throw a batch into the oven and give them a taste. Today we’re revisiting our old friends the Totino’s Pepperoni Pizza Rolls.

We’ve actually reviewed a mini version of these not too long ago, but today we’re checking out the full-sized original. (We’ve also tried the cheese version of these pizza rolls.)

You can cook these in an oven, a toaster oven, or a microwave. While we’ll occasionally heat our pizza rolls in the microwave if we’re in a hurry, we prefer the oven method for cooking these. The oven produces crispier shells, whereas these pizza rolls can be pretty soggy when cooked in the microwave. (If you want to see the full cooking instructions, check out the package scans at the bottom of this pizza roll review.)

If you use the oven to cook these, like we did, we strongly recommend that you cover your baking sheet with aluminum foil before putting the pizza rolls on it. These will leak pizza sauce while the cook, so they can be pretty messy. We also recommend that you give them ample time to cool before you pop one into your mouth. Even when the outer shells have cooled, the filling can be scorching hot. We wouldn’t want any of our dear readers to burn their mouths on these!

Now, what can we say about the flavor of these pizza rolls that hasn’t been said before? We don’t really know. Totino’s pizza rolls have a distinct flavor, and that is definitely true here. We will say that the pepperoni comes in tiny little cubes, and it really doesn’t impact the overall flavor all that much. In fact, we suspect that in a blind taste test, very few people would even be able to determine if they ate a pepperoni pizza roll or a cheese pizza roll.

But despite that, these are delicious. They’re not made from high-quality ingredients, but they’re incredibly tasty and fun to chomp into. It’s an absolute thrill to bite into a pizza roll and have all that filling squirt into your mouth.

According to the box, six pizza rolls are a serving (our box contained 16). If you stick to the recommended half-dozen, you’re looking at 220 calories and 380 mg of sodium. That’s not bad at all, but we’re pretty sure you’re going to eat more than that. (We admit to eating all 16 in a sitting…)

The Totino’s Pepperoni Pizza Rolls are a true classic. While they’re not really for dieters, they do make a pretty tasty snack for anyone who is short on time and big on pizza flavor.
