Lotzza Motzza Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza Review

We’d like to start this review by saying there’s no such thing as too much pizza, but whenever we say things like that our doctors get very angry. Apparently, there is such thing as too much pizza. We wish it weren’t so, because we love the stuff like crazy.

So, despite the fact that we probably need to take a break from pizza for a little bit to give our bodies a rest, we’re happy to be checking out the Lotzza Motzza Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza. Lotzza Motzza makes some excellent frozen pizzas, and this one seems especially indulgent. We can’t wait to dive in.

Of course, before we taste it, we must cook it. And Lotzza Motzza pizzas aren’t difficult to make. Simply tear open the package (make sure you discard the cardboard bit) and pop the pizza into the oven. The instructions say to place the pizza directly on the center rack of the oven, but we always use a baking sheet. The sweet spot for cook time seems to be right around 21 minutes for us. (If you want to read the full cooking instructions, check out our package scan at the bottom of this review.)

As you can see in the image below, this thing comes out of the oven looking like a mouthwatering piece of pizza pie. And it truly is.

Lotzza Motzza Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

We’ve had cheeseburger pizzas that use a subtle mustard mixed into the sauce to give it a more cheeseburgery flavor, and we’ve also seen pickles on pizzas like this. Lotzza Motzza didn’t go in either of those directions with this pizza. While we think pickles would have been absolutely killer on this thing, what’s here is still amazing. (Plus, there’s nothing stopping you from adding your own pickles if you’d like to.)

To fulfil the promise of beef suggested by the “burger” part of the title, this pizza features balls of delectable meat. We should point out that these are not the Italian sausage that you might expect based solely on the fact that you found it on top of a pizza. No, these don’t have that sausagey spiciness to them. But that’s okay because this is not a sausage pizza — it’s a bacon cheeseburger pizza.

And, don’t forget the bacon! There is bacon on this pizza, though it’s not in big strips or anything like that. If you look under the cheesy hood, you’ll see bacon grounds mingling with the sauce. This means that bacon flavor is subtler, but it also adds a bit of saltiness that really complements the gobs of mozzarella cheese that are on top of this thing.

Lotzza Motzza Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza

Speaking of cheese, this is a Lotzza Motzza pizza, so obviously the cheese portion is generous. It’s also stretchy and yummy, just as it should be. All in all, this is one heck of a delicious pizza!

This is the part where we give you the bad news. According to the package 1/5 of this pizza is a serving, and that tiny serving contains 370 calories (170 from fat) and 860 mg of sodium. If you whip out your calculator and do some math, you’ll see that this translates to 1,850 calories (850 from fat) for the whole pizza. While we’re pretty sure you won’t be eating a full pizza, keep in mind that this is still 925 calories for half a pizza, and 462.5 calories for a quarter of the pizza. No matter how you slice it (literally), you’re going to be consuming a ton of calories (unless you can manage to just eat a tiny little bit — which is quite difficult because this pizza is so delicious).

The Lotzza Motzza Bacon Cheeseburger Pizza is a pub-style pizza for those looking to indulge. No, this is not for dieters, but yes, it is incredible nonetheless. If you’ve got a hefty craving for a delicious pizza, and you can spare a truckload of calories, than you should definitely pick up one of these bad boys.
