We’ve been slowly making our way through the Lotzza Motzza line of frozen pizzas here at Freezer Meal Frenzy. We really love this brand (which is actually a sub-brand of Bernatello’s), and it seems like every pizza we taste from them is a winner.
So we’re especially excited about today’s pizza, the Lotzza Motzza Mac Attack Mac & Cheese Pizza. Not only do we absolutely love the brand (which we already mentioned), but mac and cheese pizza is a guilty pleasure of ours. That means that, between the mac and cheese and the Lotzza Motzza brand, we’re getting two guilty pleasures for the price of one. Hold onto your hats, folks, things are about to get wild!
Lotzza Motzza pizzas are oh-so-lovely, and they’re oh-so-easy-to-cook as well. Simply preheat your oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit, and pop the pizza in the oven for 18-23 minutes. You’re off to the races, friend! Now, we should point out that the instructions say to place the pizza directly on the oven rack, but we always use a baking sheet. We find 21 minutes to be just about the sweet spot for cooking time, but this will probably vary from oven to oven.
Instead of using the standard red sauce, this pizza is slathered with a cheddar cheese sauce. This is not uncommon for a mac and cheese pizza, but it’s definitely the right choice. It makes the whole thing a cheesy delight.
We do have to point out that the crust here ends up a little crispier than the other Lotzza Motzza pizzas we’ve tried. We don’t know if this is a result of the sauce being less likely to seep into the crust and soften it up, or if we just cooked this one differently somehow (we used the same oven settings and roughly the same amount of cook time, so that would be strange if true).
The macaroni noodles are a treat. They’re nice and soft in the middle of the pizza, but they do get a little hard around the edges of the pie. This isn’t the worst thing in the world, and it’s probably inevitable for a pizza like this, but it’s the only thing we can say about this pizza that might qualify as a complaint.
If you don’t mind some crunchy macaroni noodles, though, there’s really a whole lot to love about this particular pizza.
If you can somehow eat just a measly fifth of this pizza (which is the recommended serving size according to the package), you’ll be consuming 340 calories (110 from fat) and 750 mg of sodium. The bad news is that we think you’ll probably end up eating about twice that amount. Be careful with this one, folks; it’s a real diet-buster.
The Lotzza Motzza Mac Attack Mac & Cheese Pizza combines two of the most wonderful things on the planet: pizza and mac & cheese. Before we even took our first bite, we trusted Lotzza Motzza to get this one right, and now that we’ve tried it we can say they did a fantastic job. This is a great-tasting, mega-indulgent pizza that cheese lovers will go wild for.
