Crav’n Flavor Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches Review

Crav'n Flavor Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches

We love breakfast sandwiches here at Freezer Meal Frenzy, so we’ll take any excuse to eat them. And today we got ourselves a fresh excuse with the Crav’n Flavor Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches.

As it turns out, the Crav’n Flavor brand handles a host of different packaged foods, from salty snacks to delicious cookies to frozen food. Obviously, at Freezer Meal Frenzy, we’re interested in the frozen food side of that line. And what better place to start than with some breakfast sandwiches?

Cooking one of these is simple. Pull a sandwich out of the box and remove the plastic packaging. Then wrap the sandwich in a paper towel and place it in the microwave. Cook that little guy for about 90 seconds and you should be ready to rock. (If you want to read the full cooking instructions straight off the side of the box, check out our package scans at the bottom of this review.)

For some reason, we assumed these sandwiches would be about the size of a standard bagel. They aren’t. In reality, we’d estimate that each sandwich is actually about the size of a tennis ball. We re-examined the package after we cooked this and realized that our imagined bagel-sized sandwiches wouldn’t have fit into that box, so we admit that it was a foolish expectation.

The bulk of these sandwiches is actually the croissant. And that’s not a bad thing, because the quality is pretty high. It has a sweet-ish flavor and a somewhat flakey consistency, though admittedly this gets just a little bit soggy in the microwave.

There’s one circular piece of bacon here, and it’s folded in half so that it fits on the croissant. We think it’s a lovely slab of bacon — it’s pretty salty, but there’s a hint of sweetness to it. We wondered if Crav’n Flavor put some maple syrup on the bacon, but it turns out there’s just an added smoke flavoring. We did find the bacon to be a little too chewy, but other than that it was really good.

The egg patty is a little bland, but we don’t see that as a negative here. Because the croissant and bacon have so much flavor, the egg kind of gets buried in the mix. And then there’s the American cheese, which also has a lot of flavor and really ties this whole package together.

One of these sandwiches contains about 300 calories. We assume they’re rounding up on that, because the total for two sandwiches is listed as 590 calories. There’s also 630 mg of sodium in each sandwich, for a total of 1,260 mg if you eat both. You’ll want to be careful here, because a single sandwich really isn’t all that filling, and the amount of calories and sodium in a double-sandwich serving can be a bit high for a lot of breakfast-loving folks.

The Crav’n Flavor Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissant Breakfast Sandwiches are honestly pretty darn good. While we have some really tiny complaints (such as the slightly soggy croissant or the slightly too-chewy bacon), overall these sandwiches are real winners. As fans of breakfast sandwiches, we think we’ll be adding these to our frozen sandwich rotation, alongside the offerings of Jimmy Dean and Sweet Earth.
