Stouffer’s Mac-Fulls: BBQ Recipe Pork Mac & Cheese Bowl Review

Stouffer's Mac-Fulls: BBQ Recipe Pork Mac & Cheese Bowl

We have a pretty long history with Stouffer’s here at Freezer Meal Frenzy. We’ve been reviewing their food since 2018, and we’ve watched a lot of their foods come and go through the years. For example, their Urban Bistro line seems to be a short-lived product line. But the Mac-Fulls? Those have some staying power. At least, we here at Freezer Meal Frenzy are betting on the Mac-Fulls being around for a little while.

Today, we’re checking out the Stouffer’s BBQ Recipe Pork Mac & Cheese Bowl, which has potential to be pretty delicious. So let’s jump in!

First, though, we need to cook this up, and in the Stouffer’s tradition, this has a lengthy cook time. You’ll need to toss this into the microwave for six minutes, then give it a stir and toss it back in for two more minutes. That’s eight entire minutes of cook time, which is quite long for a frozen meal. If you’re using the lunchroom microwave at work, this is one of those meals that could make you some enemies. (If you want to read the full cooking instructions straight off the back of the box, check out the package scans at the bottom of this review.)

When this bowl of mac and cheese comes out of the microwave the first time, the BBQ sauce and cheese are separate. But then you’ll stir it and those two sauces will mix together into a BBQ/cheddar mashup. We were a little disappointed at first, but once we actually took a bite, that disappointment faded. This is a really great combo.

The pork portion is actually pretty tasty. It comes in decent-sized chunks that have that slightly salty flavor that mingles with the BBQ sauce super well. It’s moist but not too moist, and chewy but not too chewy.

The noodles are your basic elbows. No, these aren’t groundbreaking, but this is mac and cheese. A lot of times, we’d rather stick with the classic format than get super fancy with experimentation. Of course, we do prefer shells, but that’s a rant for another time…

This bowl of mac and cheese contains a whopping 600 calories and 1,120 mg of sodium. Both of those numbers are pretty dang high, so this is definitely not built for dieters. It is a pretty substantial meal when it comes to size, though, so you won’t be heading back to the fridge for seconds after you’ve scarfed down this entire bowl of mac.

The Stouffer’s BBQ Recipe Pork Mac & Cheese Bowl is a great-tasting bowl of macaroni if you’ve got the time for it. And if you can somehow squeeze all those calories into your diet. We definitely hope we’re right about these sticking around for a while, because we definitely want to have this meal again.
