We recently saw a reader comment about how much this person loves Bellatoria pizzas, and that helped to instill a fresh craving in us. So we just had to review another one of these tasty pizza pies.
So today we’re checking out the Bellatoria Ultra Thin Crust Ultimate Pepperoni Personal Size Pizza. Now, we have to admit that we already reviewed the full-size version of this pizza, but this is our first time trying the personal-sized variation. We’re sure there’s not a ton of difference, but hey, we needed to come up with an excuse to cook up another Bellatoria pizza!
Unlike some of the other personal-sized pizzas out there, this one is not made for the microwave. This will have to be cooked in the oven. Fortunately, it only takes 6 to 10 minutes, so this doesn’t come with a huge wait time. First up, we just need to say how cute this little pizza is. Just look at that adorable little guy! Just look at it!
This crust ends up nice and crispy. In fact, this is the perfect crisp level for a thin-crust pizza (admittedly, part of this is that we cooked it for the perfect amount of time). We’re really happy with how this turned out.
Now, there are two types of pepperoni that you’ll find on frozen pizza: the type that gets really crispy, and the type that stays soft (you could argue that there’s a third type, which gets crispy around the edges and soft in the center). This is the softer type, which we actually prefer.
The sauce is a little bit generic. This doesn’t have the spicy edge of a Lotzza Motzza pizza, and it doesn’t really have that sweetness of, say, a Red Baron pizza. This is a middle-of-the-road tomato paste that does the job, but it’s certainly not the main event here.
While Bellatoria doesn’t use the absolute gobs of cheese that you’ll find on a Lotzza Motzza pizza, this one has a decent amount of mozzarella on it — especially when compared with other budget-priced pizzas. We’ll always take more cheese, but we do find this to be a satisfactory amount.
This is not made for dieters. This pizza has 430 calories and 1,070 mg of sodium. If those calories aren’t bad enough, that sodium is through the roof! Oooof!
The Bellatoria Ultra Thin Crust Ultimate Pepperoni Personal Size Pizza is a cute frozen pizza that really slaps a pizza craving in the face. We’re really glad we got to eat this today!
