Our love affair with Devour’s frozen foods is pretty well documented at this point. Their Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese is a must-try, and their Sweet & Tangy Pulled Pork is impossibly delicious. It’s their combinations of expertly chosen ingredients and their obsession with quality that makes every dish shine.
Their Bacon Topped Turkey with Garlic Sauce is no exception, though it’s a bit harder to find than some of their other dishes. In fact, we couldn’t even find it on their website.
This is the kind of meal you normally have to wait for the holidays and travel to mom’s to have. It’s a nice combo of turkey, stuffing, and bacon with a layer of creamy garlic sauce over the top of it all.
It comes out of the microwave looking a little soupy, but if you let it sit for a couple minutes and then give it a good stir, it should be fine. There’s some crispy breading that tends to linger at the bottom of the dish, and making sure that gets stirred into the garlic sauce ensures a better consistency.
So now we must tell you what you surely already know by now: this dish is delicious. The sausage is especially good; it has a great taste and it might be the spiciest sausage we’ve tried yet.
The turkey is great as well. It’s succulent and juicy, and comes in large chunks, unlike the tiny pieces of meat found in most of the other frozen foods we’ve had. There’s a portion of stuffing and bacon bits as well, and all of this comes swimming in a creamy garlic sauce. The sauce is divine; every bite will transport your taste buds to heaven. And it’s hearty enough that you’ll feel full when you finish.
With 410 calories (170 from fat) this frozen food has fewer calories than many of Devour’s other dishes, which tend to swing on the higher end of the scale. Watch out, though, it’s got 1230 mg of sodium. If you’re trying to cut your sodium intake, this is a dish you’ll want to skip.
For everyone else, though, Devour’s Bacon Topped Turkey with Garlic Sauce is a dish wort tracking down, even if it’s a bit tricky to find.
